LG Y70 Mobile Price in India
Another outing from electronic giant LG is their new Smartphone the LG Y70. With the release of their new LG G4 flagship phone the high end Smartphone user base is satisfied but LG doesn't forget other segment of users as well. That is why we are seeing the launch of the new Smartphone LG Y70 that has the same polish as other LG phones. The good thing about this phone is that it comes with Android Lollipop which many phones at the under Rs.12000 price range do not. That is not to say that this phone has only one good feature as down below we will go through the different aspects of the phone and see.
Features and Specifications
The phone has only a single sim feature but supports 2G, 3G and 4G networks making it basically an all-rounder in this category. The processor is 1.2GHz Quadcore with 1GB of RAM and a separate graphics chip Adreno 306. A 720p HD display of around 4.7inches (Gorilla Glass 3 protection) graces the phone and provides a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels while the PPI is 312. An 8MP camera is included at the read with LED flash and the front camera is 1MP without any flash support. It includes all the bells and whistles we have come to take for granted in smart phones like WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, etc.
Design and Quality
LG took a nice approach with the design of the phone by giving it a very slight curve which is noticeable when viewed from the side. It manages to supply a good grip to the phone making holding the phone very satisfying. The overall design of the phone is great too with 9.9 mm thickness and 119g heavy giving a slim & smart look. The phone build is comprised of quality durable plastic instead of any metal material but it doesn't feel cheap which the main point is. Color wise the phone has three options to choose from i.e. Black, White and Gold.
OS and Tech
We know the phone uses Android which is a very popular OS these days with many customers preferring it over other OS's like Apple OS or Windows. The version of Android it uses is the latest Lollipop v5.0 which brings with it many improvements over KitKat in terms of notification pop-ups and general performance tweaks. The looks of the OS won't be visible much as LG decided to go with TouchWiz user interface instead of utilizing stock Android's UI. The processor ,a 1.2GHz Quadcore, works very well with the 1GB RAM to deliver smooth performance to the user while the Adreno 306 graphics chip jumps in when the user wants to play games on the phone.
Camera and Multimedia
The camera on this phone is 8MP with an LED flash for taking photos in low light or very dark situations. The 8MP camera does deliver good performance with images of up to 3264 x 2448 pixels being captured. HD video capture is also supported with the rear camera taking 1080p videos at 30fps while the front camera manages to take 720p HD videos. Multimedia wise the phone has support for many formats of both video (MP4, H.264, H.263 and WMV) and audio (MP3, WAV, WMV and eAAC+). Users can use the build-in apps for these but many others can also be used after downloading them from the Google Play Store.
Battery and Memory
No details are available of the talk time but we do know the standby times of this phone are upwards of 540hours which is quite high. The battery is 2100mAh and not as high as one would like but seeing as the display is not as big as other phones using the same battery capacity this actually works out in the LG Y70's favor with better battery life in general. The phone comes with only 8GB of internal memory which is quite less when compared to rivals in the same price range sporting 16GB instead. It does have a MicroSD card option to expand available memory of up to 32GB which is a plus for media heavy users.
Pros and Cons
For Pros:
· Android OS v5.0
· 4G
· Slim and smart design
· HD display
· 8MP camera
For Cons:
· 8GB internal memory when most phones come with 16GB now
· Processor speed could be better
· 1GB RAM might not be enough for Android Lollipop to perform smoothly.
Verdict
Rivals Apple iPhone 4S and Microsoft Lumia 1320 have a tough fight on its hands with the LG Y70 with the phone beating both rivals in almost every category. The phone has great features and the price is reasonable enough for many consumers to afford with no issue. A smart design and ergonomically sound grip makes the phone a delight to hold while the internals give the user a very satisfying experience. There are worse phones you could buy at this price range and the LG Y70 is one of the best options considering all that it can offer.
