LG Tribute Mobile Price in India
LG is no stranger to the local market with it line-up of amazing phones packed full of features. Similarly here we have the LG Tribute which is a Quadcore, CDMA handset with Android OS. LG has always come out with great phones like the LG G2, LG G3 and now LG G4 so good things are expected from the LG Tribute. The retail price of this handset is on the high side and below we will take a look at the phone from different angles before reaching our verdict whether it is a worthy buy or not.
Features and Specifications
Right off the start it should be noted that this is not a GSM handset but in fact a CDMA handset that does support 2G, 3G and 4G basebands. The screen is not HD resolution as it is just 4.5 inches using WVGA IPS display tech with a maximum resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. The processor is 1.2GHz Quadcore with 1GB of RAM which is enough to smoothly run Android OS KitKat v4.4 that the phone uses. It has a 5MP rear camera with led flash capable of HD videos but only a VGA front camera.
Design and Quality
The design of the phone is really good. It’s compact and easy to hold which is due to the phone having a high body-to-screen ratio of 66.7% meaning less bezel. The thickness is around 10.3mm and with the camera not protruding out at the rear it gives the phone a slim look. There are no capacitive touch keys but rather the keys can be found in the display. The quality of the phone is commendable as always seeing as LG takes pains to make durable phones using high quality materials. Do note that the phone is available only in white color where the back part of the phone is white and the front is black.
OS and Tech
The LG Tribute uses Android KitKat v4.4 as its OS. Android OS is very popular with most handsets sporting it these days. It has a great number of apps and games available for it at the Google Play Store. Also it has great multitasking features which are where the 1.2GHz Quadcore processor and 1GB RAM help it. The phone uses an Adreno 302 graphics chip for an added boost while gaming. Connectivity features in the phone include WiFi, MicroUSB and Bluetooth.
Camera and Multimedia
For this price range a 5MP rear camera and a VGA front camera is very odd. The 5MP can be used to take pictures and video; it also has a LED flash giving the ability to take low light photography. Images can be taken of up to 2560 x 1920 pixels while videos can be captured at HD format. Camera features also include autofocus, touch focus, panorama and geo-tagging. The VGA camera is enough to take low quality selfies and such but nothing more serious. Multimedia wise the phone has support for many common video and mp3 formats which can be played using the built-in players.
Battery and Memory
With a battery capacity of 2100mAh the reported talk time is 15 hours while Standby time is 200 hours. The battery is removable which a plus for those whose heavy usage of the phone forces them to carry a backup battery. The internal memory is very less for a phone in this price range i.e. 4GB but the option to expand available memory via a MicroSD card remains though limited to 32GB. The 1GB RAM is sufficient for KitKat to utilize for a smooth user experience although a higher RAM wouldn’t have hurt.
Pros and Cons
For Pros:
· Android OS
· 4G
· CDMA
· Nice compact design
· HD video capture
For Cons:
· Price
· Low internal memory
· Camera could have been better
· Only one color
· Not HD display
Verdict
Recommending this phone is hard because at the high price it is available the phone does not offer much especially if we compare it to other phones in the same price range. Samsung Galaxy E7 and the HTC Desire 816G both are available at the same price range and both offer much more than the LG Tribute. With better cameras, battery life, build quality, display, etc. Simply put the LG Tribute cannot compete with other better rival phones on the market at this price and to think of any reason to buy this phone is very hard.
