Features and Specifications

A 4.5 inches capacitive touch screen display graces the phone using FWVGA tech and capable of producing a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. There are two cameras located on the phone; the primary camera at the rear is 8MP with LED flash while the front camera is 3.2MP. The phone has dual sim capability which means you can use two Sims of the same or different carrier on the phone with either 2G or 3G networks. It uses a dual core processor with a clock speed of 1.2GHz and an oddly low memory RAM of 512MB.

Design and Quality

The bezels on the phone are not slim by any means with capacitive touch keys below the display while the proximity sensor and camera is above it. The thickness is around 9.75mm while the weight is 122.5gms including the battery. The phone comes in two colors which are black and white. The front of both variations has the plain color while the rear sports a nice pattern that really improves the look of the phone. It does feel solid when held and some of that can be attributed to the high quality plastic used in the build of the phone.

OS and Tech

You have Android OS in the phone using v4.4 which is KitKat. Android is famous for its great multitasking features and huge library of apps and games on the Google Play store. With Android OS the user can download many new apps to better their experience and games to ensure they don't get bored. Tech wise this phone has a 1.2GHz dual core processor which seems to be the norm in low budget smart phones. Standard features such as Wi-Fi, MicroUSB, Bluetooth and FM radio are also included in the phone.

Camera and Multimedia

Phones these days have two cameras included. The main or primary one is for taking higher quality photos while the secondary camera is mostly for selfies and video calls. Here we see that the primary camera is 8MP and capable of taking high quality photos at a maximum resolution of 3264 x 2448 pixels. The rear camera is also supported by an LED flash for taking photos in the dark or low light situations. The front camera is 3.2MP and fairly decent for when it comes to taking selfies but don't expect high quality ones.

Battery and Memory

Very surprisingly the manufacturer’s website has no details on the battery capacity but does mention that type which is Li-ion. The disclosed talk time is just 10 hours and a stand by time of 250 hours which according to similar phones and times in the market makes it likely that the phone has a battery capacity of around 2000mAh or maybe more. The charging time is disappointingly high at 3 hours and 15 mins. Where memory is concerned the phone has 8GB of internal memory which is very low but we can use a MicroSD card of up to 32GB to expand it.

Verdict

Brands which are popular in the market have a lot of competition and the same can be said for Karbonn. Their new Titanium Desire S30 phone has very low RAM to be an efficient multitasker, the internal memory could have been higher like around 16GB and the display of a higher resolution. But if you compare it to its rivals the Nokia X Dual Sim and Samsung Galaxy Trend S7392 then it manages to come out ahead as it sports most of the same tech and features but higher specs in the camera, OS, memory and display department. So if you want a low budget Smartphone that does the job but isn't exactly a powerhouse then you having a winner here.
