XOLO Black Mobile Price in India
Xolo considers itself to be a brand that delivers only premium smartphones ever since its inception in 2012. Providing what they consider to be technologically superior products in the local market. It also claims the distinction of being the first brand to launch a NVIDIA TEGRA 4 powered tablet in the local market. So now we have their latest outing the XOLO Black to test their claims of producing only premium smartphones. The phone has many unique and high end specs that will ensure good if not great sales for the brand especially when the reasonable price is factored in.
Features and Specifications
What is probably the unique feature of this handset is the dual rear camera of 13MP and 2MP with LED flash. Including the 5MP front camera the phone boasts three cameras! Other than that the phone has support for 2G, 3G and 4G networks while offering dual sim technology. It uses Gorilla Glass 3 protected OGS IPS tech for its 5.5 inches display capable of full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and delivering a very nice PPI of ~401. It uses an Octacore processor in the form of a 1.5GHz Quadcore and a 1 GHz Quadcore while for the graphics chip it has an Adreno 405 rounded off with 2GB of RAM.
Design and Quality
The phone looks sleek and stylish. At just 7.3mm slim and sporting a classy black colored bar shaped body the phone is a delight to handle. One of the concerns of every phone owner is dealing with smudges which XOLO has taken pains to rectify. The XOLO Black features Oleophobic coating meaning that it is smudge resistant. The phone has thin bezels of the side of the display but some amounts of bezel are present on the top and bottom that slightly hamper its looks. The rear of the phone has a XOLO logo just below the two cameras and flash. The two cameras are placed not in the exact center but to the left and right of the LED flash which is placed in the top center of the phone.
OS and Tech
No phone can boast a premium level status unless it can offer the latest tech and XOLO Black does not disappoint with it boasting Android OS Lollipop v5.0. Of course the interface is not stock android but instead uses HIVE UI which they claim is fast and easy to use as well. The features of HIVE UI are interesting and sure to be welcomed. Features such as Reading mode which turns the screen black & white to enable easier reading, Underground which prevents anyone else other than you top access your hidden apps and Edge which allows for choosing of different themes for the UI.
Camera and Multimedia
We come to the most interesting part of the phone which is its three cameras. Most people will never have seen a phone with three cameras if they cannot recall the HTC 3D camera feature phones from a few years back. The reasoning behind the dual camera feature is that it gives the user the power of two lenses. One for regular imaging (13MP lens) and the other to record the depth of the photo (2MP). This allows for blazing fast focus speeds of 0.15 secs as well as allowing you adjust the focus AFTER the image has been captured. The ChromaFlash features take two images quickly with flash and one without so you can choose the one that came out best. The front and rear cameras all support LED flash which is a great and welcome addition. Lastly the image editing is made a treat with Photo Studio app which is powered by Adobe.
Battery and Memory
A 5.5 inch full HD display phone with Octacore processors will certainly need high capacity battery. XOLO Black thankfully comes with a 3200mAh battery that they claim is engineered to deliver 20% more power using load optimization of the CPU & GPU. It promises a talktime of 36hrs 6mins of 2G and 23hrs 31mins on 3G while the standby times are 735hrs 31 mins of 2G, 698hrs 34 mins on 3G and 547hrs on 4G. The handset uses Qualcomm quick charge tech with a 2amp charger that drastically cuts down on charging time. The internal memory is 16GB which can be expanded with a MicroSD card of up to 32GB while the RAM is an impressive 2GB.

Verdict
Rarely do we have a phone that fills up the pros list and has rarely any cons. On paper the phone promises much and delivers. The camera features alone would make this phone a must buy for many people. Add in a very high quality display, Octacore processors and 2GB of RAM and you have a high performance device that will leaves rivals like Lenovo S60 and Samsung Galaxy E5 far behind in the race. If you factor in the price then there is no reason why people will pass up this phone considering all this has to offer. If the local market keeps producing phones of this caliber then the imported phones will have a hard time competing locally.
