Celkon Millennia ME Q54+ Mobile Price in India
Celkon have come out with another budget Smartphone that they hope will chip away at their competitor’s market share. The phone is dubbed Celkon Millennia ME Q54 Plus which follows the local mobile industry’s habit of giving their mobiles long and complicated names. Nevertheless the handset has quite a few features to offer and whether they can stand up to the competition or not will be clear after we look at the different aspects of the phone down below.
Features and Specifications
The phone has a Quadcore processor even though it’s not as powerful as the news ones in the market since it is only 1.2GHz. The RAM is also low at just 512MB while the internal memory is 4GB but MicroSD card support is available. The display is 5 inches capacitive touch using IPS tech and capable of 854 x 480 pixel resolution. Celkon Millennia ME Q54 has two cameras and both of them are 5MP and support video recording. The handset uses Android OS v4.4 KitKat while the battery capacity is 2000mAh.
Design and Quality
Looks wise the phone has done good as it is designed like HTC smartphones and comes in grey, blue, white and brown colors. Unfortunately unlike the HTC phones the Celkon Millennia ME Q54 does not have smaller bezels. The display is centered in the middle with black bezels surrounding it while at the bottom are the three capacitive touch keys. The 5MP camera of which there are two are found at the front top of the phone and the rear along with the only led flash. The dimensions of the device are 145mm long, 73mm wide and 8.81mm thick. The 8.81mm thickness is actually on the slim side and makes the phone appear nice and slim while the 150.6g weight gives it a nice hefty feel.
OS and Tech
Celkon Millennia ME Q54 Plus does the smart thing and uses Android v4.4 KitKat as its OS otherwise it would have a hard time competing with the rest. Although KitKat has great multitasking features the main issue it will face is the low amount of RAM it has to support it. A crash due to low memory is a very realistic possibility here. Connectivity features on the phone include WiFi, Hotspot, MicroUSB and Bluetooth while the official product page for the phone mentions only a gravity sensor included.
Camera and Multimedia
The strongest selling points of this phone are its two 5MP cameras. Both the front and back camera are 5MP but while the rear comes with LED flash support and mostly designed to be used to take all sorts of pictures; the front camera was designed and given a 5MP sensor strictly with selfies in mind. Since most phones have 1.3 or 2MP front cameras you can see why this is a huge win for this phone. The multimedia features on this phone are great as you can download many great apps which support many or all formats allowing you to enjoy your content wherever you are.
Battery and Memory
Considering the 5 inch display even though it is far from HD resolution it was expected that this phone might have a bigger battery but Celkon went with just 2000mAh. It is not a wrong move since the screen not being as vibrant and crisp as 720p or 1080p or 2160p resolution displays won’t consume as much power. The talk time for 2G on the phone is a very nice 30hrs while on 3G it is 12hrs which is also a good respectable duration. We come to the memory and the phone lets us down in this aspect with only 4GB of internal memory and 512MB of RAM.
Pros and Cons
For Pros:
· Two 5MP cameras
· Android OS
· Nice design
For Cons:
· Low resolution display
· Low RAM
· Only 4GB of memory
· Processor could have been better
Verdict
The Celkon Millennia ME Q54 Plus will have a tough time in this competitive market as it fails in quite a few areas such as the low 512MB RAM, the less than stellar processing power, the low resolution display and last but not least sporting only 4GB of internal memory. Rivals like the Xiaomi Redmi 2 and Motorola Moto E 2nd Gen 3G will not let such a chance go to show their superiority over the Celkon Millennia ME Q54 as all three phones are at similar price ranges as well. Regardless if you are a selfies lover who wants a phone purely to capture selfies and not play around then you might just like this phone.
