Rage Melody Mobile Price in India
Rage mobile has a very simple yet effective tag line which is “Our vision is to be the leading brand of mobile devices by helping people to be entertained and to connect with each other in exciting way”. Grammatical errors aside this means they aim to make phones that have great multimedia and gaming support while keeping up with connectivity features. Looking at the Rage Melody phone it is hard to imagine this phone being designed with the same ambition. A Dual core processor with just 512MB RAM, 4GB of internal memory, 5MP camera and no dedicated GPU this phone will have a tough time competing at the price it is going for.
Features and Specifications
Rage Melody has a 4.5inch capacitive touch display that uses IPS tech but is only capable of 854 x 480 pixels meaning no HD display. The dual core processor and 512MB RAM in the era of Quadcores in this price range is surprising and will not do the phone any favors. The OS is Android v4.4 KitKat and at least that is a normal firmware version found on phones in this price range. This phone by melody has a 1700mAh battery and Dual Sim features with support for both 2G and 3G networks.
Design and Quality
The build and design are the same basic ones found in budget smartphones. It uses the standard hard plastic material used in many phones. The phone is available only in black color. The bezels on the phone are not less at all meaning it misses out on a stylish look. It has three capacitive touch keys found below the display like many other phones sporting Android OS. Overall the quality of the phone is satisfactory even though it doesn’t match up to many phones in the same price range as it is.
OS and Tech
Android took the world by storm just a few years after its release and it is hard to imagine most locally manufactured phones using anything else as their OS. The Rage Melody uses v4.4 Android KitKat as its OS and it does a stellar job as usual. The only issue here is that it is often let down by the low RAM and processing power the phone sports. Maybe if the phone used Android Jelly Bean then it could have a good experience for the user but KitKat requires more processing power and memory to run smoothly and not crash. There is no mention of the sensors, if any, the phone has and it also does not include any noteworthy tech features.
Camera and Multimedia
True to form the phone carries with it a 5MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front camera. Considering this in the light of the other specs this phone has it almost looks as of this phone was not made with current expectations in mind. 5MP is nothing great and will give you okay images and video capture. There is thankfully an LED flash which is useful for low light photography and serving as a makeshift flashlight in times of need. The 1.3MP camera takes us back to the times of old Nokia and Samsung camera phones as 1.3MP was a big thing then while today it will make many people just wonder at how such a low megapixel count camera being included was a good idea.
Battery and Memory
The phone has a 1700mAh battery and promises a talktime of 10hrs and a standby time of 160hrs. This is not as great as it may seem as we have seen mobiles with HD displays and faster processors manage similar times on similar batteries. Still it does the job and you can expect at least a full day’s battery life from normal use. The memory the phone has for use is very disappointing at just a meager 4GB but at least you can increase it with a max of 32GB MicroSD card.
Pros and Cons
For Pros:
· Dual Sim
· Android
For Cons:
· Low resolution display
· 4GB internal memory
· 512MB Ram
· Just Dual core processors
· Camera not good enough
· Price too high with such low specs
Verdict
It is hard to imagine people buying this phone for its features as you can find a lot of better phones at the same price. Look at rivals iBall Andi 4.5V Baby Panther and Lenovo S650 who have almost better specs in every aspect. Quadcores, better battery, 8GB memory, 1GB RAM and 8MP cameras which are all available at the same price range as the Rage Melody. Rage Mobile will have to do a much better job with newer phones because competition is fierce and phones like this will not help them at all.
