Lava Pixel V1 Mobile Price in India
Lava International Ltd has claimed a great growth in the local mobile industry after their establishment in 2009. Coming out with tablets, feature phones and smartphones the company has tried to take advantage of every segment of the market. Success comes when phones that appeal to the public are released. These days it mostly comes out to a phone being cost effective while having all the bells and whistles expected from a Smartphone. Their latest release the Lava Pixel V1 has a great line up in the specs department and the price is reasonable too. Down below we talk about the different aspects of the phone to see where it stands.
Features and Specifications
First the display, it is a big 5.5inches HD screen capable of 1280 x 720 pixels and 16.7Million colors while using IPS tech and Asashi Dragontrail Glass. From a processing standpoint the device does not slack off as well since it boasts a 1.3GHz Quadcore processor with 2GB of RAM and a ARM Mali-400 MP2 graphics processing unit. The OS is Android One using an upgraded version of the latest firmware version which is Lollipop v5.1. Dual sim features are also included in the phone with support for both 2G and 3G networks. The cameras are 13MP and 8MP (details on this below) with support for Full HD 1080p video recording.
Design and Quality
Thankfully the bezels are very slim owing in fact to the lack of capacitive touch keys below the display. The phone has those three basic keys found on the screen as seen in phones like the Nexus 5. The thin bezels on the side makes the screen look much bigger coming out to a screen to body ratio of 76.3% and adds to the sleek and stylish look. Especially when you account for its two toned look at the rear. The phone is available in two colors which are White and Gold and the two toned look go together well will both.
OS and Tech
Android One is a new upgrade by Google that uses the latest Android firmware version 5.1. It promises double fast performance, longer battery life, faster UI experience and a host of other upgrades that will ensure a much improves experience for the user. Since the phone has a 1.3GHz Quadcore processor and 2GB of RAM underneath the hood the speed of the UI should be great and leave less chances of a crash due to low memory constraints. Other than that you have access to tens of thousands of games and apps available for the phone from the Google Play Store.
Camera and Multimedia
Lava Pixel V1 has two cameras i.e. the 13MP rear camera with LED flash and the 8MP front camera. This does not mean they are true 13MP and 8MP cameras. Lava has chosen to use software enhanced sensors for both cameras meaning the 13MP camera actually uses a software enhanced 8MP sensor and the 8MP camera uses a software enhanced 5MP sensor. They claim to deliver the same quality images as the proper megapixel count camera but a software enhanced version will have drawbacks in how it handles saturation, pixel density and such. If you want a proper high megapixel camera phone then it not it; what it actually is is a ‘jugaar’ or temporary fix.
Battery and Memory
Lava Pixel V1 uses a 2650mAh Li-Polymer battery which is a very conservative battery capacity for a phone with such a big 5.5inch HD display. Nevertheless it promises a talk time of 20hrs and 5 mins on 2G networks and 12hrs and 17mins on 3G networks. There is no mention of standby time by the manufacturer. The phone has a very good internal memory of 32GB which is one of the biggest at this price range. Honestly this amount of memory is more than enough for many people but if you like story large amounts of media files on your phone then there is a MicroSD option of up to 32GB also available.
Pros and Cons
For Pros:
· Dual Sim
· Latest Version Android One OS
· Large Internal memory
· Great design
· Screen to body ratio is very nice
· Good price
For Cons:
· Cameras are not true 13MP and 8MP
· No 4G
· Battery capacity is too low
Verdict
While we agree the phone takes a beating from the low battery capacity and the misleading camera megapixel counts. Certainly a look at rivals LG G Pro Lite and Micromax Canvas Hue 2shows that they attack exactly where this phone lacks with better battery capacity and cameras. The Lava Pixel V1 in the end rounds off to a phone offering a great HD display and high memory with a much improved OS in the form of Android One. If you are looking for a phone with all those features that doesn’t cost an arm or a leg then look no further.
