BLU Win JR LTE Mobile Price in India
Android is the go-to OS for most mobile phone manufacturers and with good reason. It is popular and well received with countless features that people have come to love. Other than Android there are other Operating systems used by some companies that have their fans as well. You have Blackberry OS, Apple OS and Windows OS. The phone we are going over here i.e. the BLU Win JR LTE runs Windows 8.1 OS and has many features for the person wondering. BLU is a US based Smartphone company that has just entered the local mobile market with the launch of this phone and in a bold move has adopted Windows 8.1 as the OS. Whether it stands up to the behemoth that is Android is still to be seen.
Features and Specifications
As you can guess from the handset’s full name; the phone has support for 2G, 3G and 4G networks on top of having dual sim features. The primary camera is 5MP with LED flash but the front camera is just VGA quality which is very rare these days. It has an internal memory of only 8GB with support for MicroSD cards. The computing power is comprised up off a Snapdragon 1.2GHz Quad core processor, 1GB of RAM and an Adreno 306 Graphics Processing Unit. The screen is 4.5inches of the IPS LCD type that can display 16M colors and has a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. The OS as discussed above is Windows 8.1 but can be upgraded to Windows 10 when it is made available.
Design and Quality
You know how bezels are frowned upon and rightfully so as they detract from the overall look of the mobile. Some mobiles, however, can pull off the look and the BLU Win JR LTE is such a phone. It is partly how the operating system’s UI looks with the tiles and all. The phone also has three physical touch keys below the display like Android phone but unlike those the three keys are the return key, the windows key and the search key. The phone is available in 5 color combinations which are Grey, White, Orange, Yellow and Pink but in all of them the front facing area is always dark grey in color.
OS and Tech
Windows OS v8.1 is not as versatile as Android but very easy to use especially for the older generation. The tiles are big and simple to understand on top of being customizable. If you have a contact you call often then you can simple create a tile for them and that way you can just tap the tile to call rather than just go all the way into the contact list and search for them. The Windows Store is not as big and bad as the Android and Apple stores but you do have the basic social media apps on them and quite a few games to download. Just remember that the Windows experience is vastly different to the Apple and Android ones but at the same time it is less stressful for the non tech savvy.
Camera and Multimedia
The cameras on this phone are nothing special with the primary one being 5MP with LED flash and the secondary being just plain VGA. Good news is that the 5MP primary camera can take HD videos of 720p@30fps quality while the photos are 2592 x 1936 pixels. The secondary camera is VGA and for those of you that don’t know VGA quality is 640 x 480; it was the sort of camera found on the first camera phones ever released. So selfies wise you won’t get good images at all and would be better off using the rear camera instead. The formats this phone can play are severely limited which means unless it is a supported format you won’t be able to play it.
Battery and Memory
BLU did a good job where the battery is concerned as it outfitted the phone with a Li-Po 2000mAh non-removable battery which promises good performance. Considering the display quality (Non-HD) it is still surprising that the phone manages 22hrs of talk time on 2G and 16hrs on 3G while the standby time is an impressive 725hrs on both 2G and 3G. As well as BLU did on the battery it failed miserably in the memory department. The internal memory is only 4GB which won’t leave much for installing many games and apps or storing media files especially if you record HD videos often. Thankfully there is a MicroSD card option and you can use one up to a max 32GB capacity one.
Pros and Cons
For Pros:
· 5 colors to choose from
· Great battery performance
· MicroSD card support
· 4G support
· OS upgradable
For Cons:
· Not that many apps or games
· VGA front camera
Verdict
To say that the BLU Win JR LTE won’t have a tough time in the local market would be a lie. In fact saying that it will be overshadowed by local and foreign rivals would be so very true. The rivals for this phone are the HTC Desire 310 and the Salora Njoy X E8 which have much better specs overall than this phone. Windows OS has a long tough road ahead if it wants to compete on par with the likes of Android and Apple. The best way for that would be to have specs that outperform everything else so that anyone who wants such a phone will have to buy a Windows phone.
